The curl pattern is professionally created to achieve our signature Burmese-inspired look. Because human hair is a natural material, the final curl pattern may also have subtle variations.

These natural characteristics are part of what makes each Mayumi wig unique.

Hair Care

Mayumi Burmese Curly Hair is made from human hair and should be cared for much like your own natural hair. Proper maintenance will help preserve the curl pattern, softness, definition, manageability, and longevity of your wig.

Daily Maintenance

• Gently detangle from the ends upward using your fingers or a wide-tooth comb.
• Finger-detangle whenever possible to help preserve the curl pattern.
• Keep the hair moisturized with a lightweight leave-in conditioner or curl-defining product.
• Avoid excessive brushing, which can disrupt the curl pattern and create unnecessary frizz.
• Protect the wig while sleeping with a satin bonnet or satin pillowcase.
• Avoid excessive manipulation of the curls.
• Always apply a heat protectant before using heat tools.

Washing

• Wash with a gentle, moisturizing, sulfate-free shampoo as needed.
• Follow with a quality hydrating conditioner.
• Gently detangle while the hair is conditioned, starting from the ends and working upward.
• Allow the wig to air dry whenever possible.
• Once completely dry, gently separate and define the curls with your fingers.
• Avoid excessive heat while drying or styling.

Important to Know

Some light shedding is normal with human hair and may occur with regular wear.

Curly textures require consistent moisture and gentle handling to help maintain curl definition and minimize tangling.

Proper daily maintenance can help reduce excessive shedding and tangling, but shedding and tangling cannot be completely eliminated.

Avoid excessive heat, harsh products, chemical over-processing, and heavy product buildup, as these may affect the curl pattern, softness, and longevity of the hair.

When not in use, store your wig clean, completely dry, and properly protected.

Heat, Coloring & Chemical Processing

Mayumi Burmese Curly Wigs are made from human hair and may be styled with heat or professionally colored and processed.

However, excessive heat, bleaching, coloring, or chemical processing can alter the hair's texture, curl pattern, moisture, strength, and longevity.

The original Burmese-inspired curl pattern may loosen, change, or may not fully return after excessive heat or chemical processing.

For the best results, we recommend professional coloring, bleaching, and chemical processing.

Always use a heat protectant when applying heat and avoid excessive temperatures or repeated heat exposure.

Wig Preparation Options

Your wig may be ordered with an un-plucked lace option or plucked lace upon request.

Bleached knots are available upon request. Please leave a note with your order if you would like this service.  Custom wig preparation requests may require additional processing time and fee.
